In 2010 I attended the Asheville School of Massage & Yoga. I had just given birth to my first child in 2009 and I felt clearly called to continue my holistic education after her birth. After a challenging beginning with my daughter, massage proved to be the antidote to the stress and anxiety I felt as a new mom. It profoundly healed me and I witnessed first hand it’s deep effects on my nervous system and body.
Soon after I graduated I knew I wanted to focus on prenatal & postpartum massage and enrolled in Claire Marie Miller’s Nurturing the Mother pregnancy certification program.
I have since gone on to do an advanced mentorship with Cat Matlock in Trigger Point Massage which is a modality that allows the practitioner to find and isolate taught & hyper irritable “knots” within the tissue and skillfully release them. Trigger points can cause a variety of issues from localized pain to headaches to immobility. Releasing them can help to restore balance and freedom to the muscle tissue & thereby the whole skeletal body.
My massage style is to combine therapeutic, specific work with a deeply restorative and nervous system resetting experience.
In addition to being a massage therapist I am also certified as an Herbalist & Ayurvedic practitioner. I live on a small homestead outside of Asheville with my husband and two daughters.
I am so grateful to call WNC home!
